Hayward 9/11 Memorial Mission Statement

The Hayward 9/11 Memorial, located in downtown Hayward, California.

Our goal WAS to build a 9/11 Memorial to forever Honor and Remember the Heroes of 9/11.

In addition, the Memorial also was built to honor and remember the City of Hayward’s First Responders and Veterans. We have 164 Hayward City KIA (Killed In Action) military veteran names listed on the Memorial from the Spanish-American War to the Present.

We have the full support of the City staff and Council of Hayward, California.

Additionally, we have the political support and approval of U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein, U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell, U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee, past State Senator Ellen Corbett, State Assemblyman Bill Quirk, State Senator and past Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, Alameda County Supervisor Richard Valle, Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley, and Alameda County Sheriff Gregory Ahern.

We also have the full support and approval of the surviving 9/11 families, locally and around the country.

The goal of our website is to make the San Francisco Bay Area community and the World aware of the Hayward 9/11 Memorial, and to have a historical record of the full process of the Memorial's build from Design to Dedication.

Anyone can STILL donate to sponsor a small brick paver for $100 each and/or a large brick paver for $150 each at the Memorial with personalized wording engraved forever on the brick. Details to sponsor a brick paver are on this website and the City of Hayward's website.

With the generous support and donations of local citizens and companies we completed and Dedicated the Hayward 9/11 Memorial on Memorial Day, Monday, 30 May 2016.

 - THANK YOU -
